Berserk released its latest chapter in September 2025, opening the door to Guts coming to terms with the past, his losses, and his perceived failures. However, there has been no explicit release date given, yet the supervisor now in charge of the manga, Kouji Mori, has released an update on behalf of Berserk and Studio Gaga.
The latest update posted on Mori’s X account details plans to not only proceed full-steam ahead on more Berserk manga, but also to continue serialization of his own works. Furthermore, he cited Yoshimitsu Kurosaki as continuing to handle the drawing of Guts himself, a crucial duty, obviously, especially given the manga’s latest introspective journey for the tortured warrior.
Berserk Team Has Big Plans for 2026
While Mori has not given any explicit plans for when Berserk will release chapter #384, there is no indication of the series stopping anytime soon. Given the sporadicity with which Berserk’s manga releases, often with months between new chapters, this is hardly new, but the update is encouraging, especially while Mori continues his other series like Sousei no Taiga.
“Happy New Year! Looking forward to your continued support this year too!! This year as well, I’ll be tackling my own serialization and the supervision of Berserk with full effort!
As always, I won’t be drawing Guts in the main story! Rest assured ~
That said, Guts is really difficult to draw… Mr. Kurosaki is truly amazing!!”
-Kouji Mori
The New Year’s illustration is perhaps the first new glimpse of Guts seen in months for fans, but it is nothing new for those who follow mangaka during the holiday season. The responses are largely loaded with support from eager fans and even fellow staff voicing their support to the Studio Gaga leader for a hopefully glorious new year of Berserk.
Guts Enters 2026 with the Chance for Healing
Still deeply haunted by Griffith snatching Casca away to Falconia, Guts was led to the Kushans’ ancient burial grounds, with its territory full of mummified corpses. Led to a mysterious Stupa, Guts is sealed in there, believed by Silat to be left to rot and die. Berserk chapter #382 gave Guts his last glimpse of the outside world.
Daiba, though, senses that its abyssal darkness may provide Guts with a chance for introspection. As Guts stepped inside in chapter #383, sealed within a strange clam structure even as the abyss seemed to flood the room from the ceiling, he saw glimpses of Casca and Griffith, both before the Eclipse and during Casca’s abduction.
Much like Schierke and Farnese’s journey into the Corridor of Dreams which restored Casca’s psyche in chapter #347-355, this could be a prime healing opportunity for Guts. Given his well-being over what’s now taken years of Berserk’s manga, with even Silat taken aback by his once-rival’s catatonic state, Berserk has a chance for Guts to truly process his trauma.
