Former Butcher Infants singer Carla Harvey has unveiled the only/video “Hell or Hollywood” as the newest providing from her new mission The Violent Hour. The only includes a visitor guitar solo from Zakk Wylde.

The brand new tune, which follows earlier single “Sick Ones” featuring John 5, has a particular ’80s arduous rock vibe, and is accompanied by a music video filmed on the famed Rainbow Bar & Grill in Hollywood, California. Within the clip, actors painting Lemmy Kilmister, Janis Joplin, and Kurt Cobain.

“Capturing the ‘Hell or Hollywood’ video on the Rainbow was a full-circle second for me,” acknowledged Harvey. “As a child rising up within the Midwest, I noticed the Rainbow in rock mags and iconic Weapons N’ Roses movies…it exuded that gritty, harmful, rock ’n’ roll life-style I craved. Once I moved to LA, I virtually lived there. I made my first pals on the Rainbow, discovered my first bandmates there, and obtained into loads of bother. The Rainbow is greater than a backdrop; it’s a dwelling, respiration piece of rock historical past.”

She added, “This video tells the story of chasing a dream to LA (each the pleasures and the pitfalls) and toys with the query: do you need to promote your soul for rock ’n’ roll? Is that this Hell or Hollywood?  The reply reveals itself on the finish of the video. It was essential for me to have Lemmy (performed by Luke Edwards of Killed by Loss of life) within the video as considered one of my “tempters” due to his iconic presence on the Rainbow. You’ll spot a Janis Joplin too (actress Shannon Corbett) and I needed to throw in somewhat tongue in cheek humor as properly with a Kurt Cobain lookalike (Gabe Maska) as a result of let’s be actual, if Kurt confirmed up on the Rainbow, you’d undoubtedly be in hell.”

Harvey’s fiancé, Anthrax/Pantera drummer Charlie Benante, who composed the music and carried out a lot of the devices on The Violent Hour’s upcoming debut EP, added, “Carla grew up loving Weapons N’ Roses, and since they have been so closely influenced by Aerosmith, I wished to put in writing one thing that paid tribute to each. The riff on ‘Hell or Hollywood’ is the type that stands by itself — even with out vocals, it’s obtained a swagger to it. And having Zakk Wylde on the solo? He introduced this uncooked, six-string grit that rips by the observe. You hear it and immediately know — it’s him.”

Benante and Wylde are each enjoying in Pantera, alongside traditional members Philip Anselmo and Rex Brown, with a summer US tour set to kick off in July (tickets available here).
