Colbert’s Coldplay Kiss Cam Parody Roasts Trump, Unites Late-Night Hosts in Solidarity

In a strong present of solidarity, a number of of Stephen Colbert’s late-night friends appeared on Monday evening’s episode of the Late Present to point out their help following CBS’s choice to cancel the iconic late-night franchise.

In a spoof of Coldplay’s now-viral kiss cam video, Jon Stewart, John Oliver, Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers, and Andy Cohen, together with Anderson Cooper, Adam Sandler, Christopher McDonald, and Triumph the Insult Comedian Canine, all appeared within the Late Present’s studio viewers as “Bizarre Al” Yankovic and Lin-Manuel Miranda lined Coldplay’s “Viva La Vida.” The bit culminated with an animated Donald Trump cuddling with a brand of CBS’s guardian firm, Paramount.

Final week, CBS canceled Late Present with Stephen Colbert, saying that the present would conclude its broadcast run in Could 2026. The community cited a “purely monetary choice” as the explanation for the present’s cancelation, although some critics have questioned whether or not Skydance’s pending merger with CBS guardian firm Paramount — and potential political strain from the Trump administration — could have performed a task. Stewart is amongst those that share that perception, and he ripped into Paramount for capitulating to the president throughout Monday’s episode of The Day by day Present.
