    Prolific collaborators Eiko Ishibashi and Jim O’Rourke are releasing a brand new album. Pareidolia is out August 29 through Drag City. The album collages collectively improvised music from the artists’ 2023 tour of Europe. At the moment, Ishibashi and O’Rourke have shared a snippet of Pareidolia. Test it out beneath.

    The album’s title, as famous in a press launch, is outlined as “the tendency to understand a particular, typically significant picture in a random or ambiguous visible sample; to see shapes or make photos out of randomness.” Pareidolia follows Ishibashi’s March album, Antigone, and O’Rourke’s 2023 soundtrack album for Hands That Bind. It additionally follows collaborative works from Ishibashi and O’Rourke, resembling Lifetime of a Flower, Okiooishi, and Treatments.
