When requested about directing her partner, Kiran Rao shared: “I tortured him (Aamir) a little bit bit. He would give me some ideas, and I’d be like, ‘No, do it like this.’ Because it was my first movie and we had a really tiny funds—a micro-budget—there was this fixed panic that I wouldn’t get to do what I needed. I used to be affected person with everyone else as a result of, clearly, I couldn’t shout at everybody—I needed to present that I knew what I used to be doing.
