    Fountains of Wayne Announce First Shows Since Adam Schlesinger’s Death

    Fountains of Wayne have introduced their first present following the death of Adam Schlesinger, their bassist and common popular culture songwriter extraordinaire, in April 2020. The facility-pop band will carry out at Milwaukee’s Summerfest, on the Fourth of July, alongside different acts corresponding to Benson Boone, the Lumineers, Chicago, and Porter Robinson.     Schlesinger died from COVID-19 complications on the age of 52. Along with his personal bands Fountains of Wayne and Ivy, the musician was each critically revered and a cult icon as a prolific songwriter for movie and TV. He received three Emmy Awards, one Grammy Award, and was nominated for extra Academy Awards, Tony Awards, and Golden Globe Awards. Numerous tributes had been launched in Schlesinger’s honor following his demise, together with a special covers album, livestream reunions by Fountains of Wayne and That Thing You Do! solid members, and a 2021 star-studded tribute show.

    This Summerfest set will probably be Fountains of Wayne’s first public efficiency in 12 years. Their final studio album, Sky Stuffed with Holes, got here out in 2011, and the band went on hiatus two years later. Fountains of Wayne reissued their 2003 album, Welcome Interstate Managers, which incorporates the hit “Stacy’s Mother,” on vinyl in 2021.
