Avery Tucker, previously one half of the indie-rock band Girlpool, has introduced his debut solo album: Paw is out October 10. He’s shared the brand new single “Like I’m Young,” too, and it comes with a Nick Vernet–directed video of Tucker performing the track whereas caught in a barren room with a canine. Test it out under.
“‘Like I’m Younger’ might be one of the emotionally uncooked songs I’ve ever written,” Tucker stated in an announcement. “There are traces within the track I bear in mind writing and pondering ‘I received’t maintain this in.’ I made a decision to take this track to the sting of myself on the time, and each time I play the track reside I stroll alongside that cliff inside me and really feel the peak.”
“Like I’m Younger” is the second track to be shared from Paw, following “Big Drops.” The 11-track LP was co-produced with Alaska Reid and recorded between Livingston, Montana, and Encino, California. Girlpool, the Los Angeles–based mostly duo of Tucker and Harmony Tividad, broke up in 2022, a couple of months after releasing what would turn out to be their fourth and remaining album, Forgiveness. Final yr, Tividad made her solo debut with the studio album Gossip.
