    ‘Grosse Pointe Blank’ Director George Armitage Dead at 82

    George Armitage Useless at 82

    George Armitage, well-known for guiding films like “Grosse Pointe Clean” and “Miami Blues,” is useless … TMZ has discovered.

    The longtime Hollywood producer and director’s niece tells TMZ … George died final Saturday surrounded by household, together with his spouse, his son, his daughter-in-law and his grandkids.

    The reason for demise is unclear.


    George is greatest identified for guiding the 1997 hitman film “Grosse Pointe Clean” … starring John Cusack, Minnie Driver, Alan Arkin and Dan Aykroyd.

    He additionally wrote and directed the 1990 crime comedy “Miami Blues” starring Fred Ward, Alec Baldwin and Jennifer Jason Leigh.

    George’s first function was 1970’s “Fuel-s-s-s” and it caught the eye of trailblazing unbiased movie director Roger Corman. The 2 went on to work collectively on a variety of Hollywood tasks.
