We’re now less than a year away from the release of Grand Theft Auto 6 (assuming the game doesn’t get delayed again), and it’s fair to say fans have gone past the point of excitement and entered a state of constant delirium. The hype, my friends, is real.
At the time of writing, there have been two trailers for GTA 6, and neither of them were particularly heavy on gameplay. It seems obvious that the third trailer, whenever it arrives, will be a deep dive into gameplay and GTA 6‘s various systems, but I’d be amazed if we got that before the end of the year. Fortunately, what we do have is a little glimpse into GTA 6‘s gameplay to keep us going.
GTA 6 Gameplay Teased In New GTA Online Update
We can see the vision
The latest major update for GTA Online, “A Safehouse In The Hills”, introduces a ton of new features to the game that fans are convinced have been taken from GTA 6. Some of the new gameplay elements incorporated into GTA Online include the ability to work out, and a world filled with more buildings that can be entered seamlessly. Oh, and we can now have customizable pets, which I admit is not what I originally got into GTA games for, but it’s a nice touch.
GTA Online has always been a great place for Rockstar to test out new features. The developer can patch in and out new mechanics quickly, and it would be silly to assume that there’s no cross-pollination of ideas between GTA Online and GTA 6.
All of this has fans incredibly excited about the new Grand Theft Auto, with GTA 6 Countdown on Twitter calling the Online update a “small glimpse” of what’s to come in GTA 6. And by the sounds of it, there’s a lot to come.
GTA 6 Leaked Gameplay Teased A Ton Of New Features
So much to do, so little time
One of the first major GTA 6 gameplay leaks appeared to confirm a ton of new side activities which were then teased for real in the first two trailers. With so much to do, I’m starting to wonder if I’ll ever actually finish the game.
Here’s every leaked or confirmed side activity in GTA 6 so far:
- Basketball
- Boxing/MMA
- Fishing
- Gym
- Hunting
- Kayaking
- Mini-Golf
- Off-Road Races
- Pool
- Scuba Diving
- Street Racing
- Tennis
As long as nobody makes me do a yoga mission again like in GTA 5, I think I can comfortably say I can’t wait to see what GTA 6 has in store for me when it releases November 19, 2026.
