GTA 6 Third Delay Fear Has Gamers Kissing Goodbye To Their November Dreams

We made it one whole week into 2026 before the ugly question of another GTA 6 delay reared its head once more. While previous reports had suggested November 19 was all but set in stone for the hugely anticipated video game, it’s now been suggested that a third delay absolutely cannot be ruled out.

For those keeping score, GTA 6 has had two public delays so far. It was first moved from its initial 2025 release window to May 2026, before it was announced towards the end of last year that it would now be releasing November 19, 2026. This is all in aid of making sure the game is as good as it can be by Rockstar Games’ standards. Of course, Rockstar’s standards are also infamously high, which brings us to this latest delay rumor.

Is GTA 6 Going To Be Delayed Again?

    It’s not looking good

While nothing has been officially confirmed, Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier appeared on the latest episode of gaming podcast Button Mash with some ill tidings. He explained that, based on what he’s heard, GTA 6 still isn’t actually completely finished in terms of content, and that Rockstar will absolutely delay the game again rather than release it in a “compromised state.”

Here’s what Schreier had to say:

“The last I heard, it was still not content complete. That is to say, people were still finishing things up, still finalizing levels and missions, and seeing what is going to make it into the game. It’s really hard to say right now, and I don’t think anyone at Rockstar can tell you, with 100% certainty, that they will make it out in November.”

If we can take any kind of comfort from this, Schreier added that people at Rockstar consider the November release date “a little more solid” than the original 2025 or May 2026 release windows. Alarm bells should definitely still be ringing, though.

    Gamers Really Aren’t Happy

Who can blame them at this point?

Naturally, the reaction from fans hasn’t been great. Many are wondering why Rockstar showed the game when they did, although, to be fair to Rockstar, they were the victims of a massive leak and millions of fans around the world begging for more information. They were in a bit of a no-win situation, surely?

“Still not content complete? At this point I’m wondering why they decided to create and release the trailer in 2023,” one fan wrote on Reddit. “People are going to wait for this game regardless, announcing that the release date would be in 2025 when apparently they were ways away from being finished with the game is only creating angst amongst fans because of the delays. Odd decision-making by Rockstar.”

Another argued: “They should stop giving us dates until they are 100% sure.”

It’s not clear when we’ll get an official update from Rockstar Games on GTA 6. However, it’s worth noting that the next earnings call from parent company Take-Two Interactive is scheduled for February 3, so we should get some kind of reassurance then, assuming everything is still going smoothly.
