It’s Official, Pokémon Is Now Guaranteed to Survive the Apocalypse

Pokémon is already a timeless franchise, thanks to its wildly memorable signature battling creatures and the inventive ways in which people find joy playing its games. However, one fan wishes to provide ironclad protection in case the unthinkable happens. As such, at least one player has devised the ultimate Pokémon game time capsule.

Posted on Reddit, Pokémon fan u/AByteOfLogic introduced their customized Pelican 1745BOW Air Bow Case inlaid with layers of custom foam to hold every mainline Pokémon game, corresponding system, cables, and backup batteries. Complete with a Poke Ball insignia, this waterproof, crushproof and dustproof case is built to last until a new generation of Pokémon masters emerges.

Posted in December 2025, the “PokéPak” is AByteOfLogic’s customized hunter’s bow case, hilariously created with the help of GunFoam’s custom-fitted layers cut perfectly to hold every game, system, and accessory. The post prompted a mixture of envy and admiration for the ingenuity, and is a solid, portable method to preserve games for the foreseeable future.

It’s an amusing, yet wholesome exchange in which others chimed in with their own custom carrying cases, voicing support for their mutual creativity and dedication as fans. It contains each mainline title, including remakes from Gen 1-9, with a lion’s share of Game Boy models, DS, 3DS, Switch, battery chargers and Poke Balls holding cords and accessories.

The waterproof O-ring, in addition to prevention systems meant to keep water and debris out, systems like these are a reasonable option for those looking to store their prized games safely away. It might be viewed as excessive, but even in non-apocalyptic scenarios, natural disasters including earthquakes, hurricanes and floods destroy valuables with depressing efficiency.

It might be viewed as excessive, but even in non-apocalyptic scenarios, natural disasters including earthquakes, hurricanes and floods destroy valuables with depressing efficiency.

It’s appropriate that AByteOfLogic is also a Fallout fan, casually joking about readiness to fend off post-apocalyptic scavengers with a Mr. Handy robot. However, the reality is, with digital game ownership dealing in licenses rather than owning the title itself, physical media preservation is a reasonable aspiration, especially when one’s hard-earned dollars go toward building collections like this.

While the games of Pokemon’s incoming Gen 10 have yet to be confirmed whether they’re game key cards or fully-loaded cartridges, as fans have seen with Pokémon Pokopia, there’s no guarantee players will fully own future Pokémon “physical media” games. Perhaps, then, it’s appropriate that there’s not a foam slot carved out for these additions.
