Jack Black will get “misplaced in a corn maze of bass” when his potluck jam session of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers’ “Free Fallin’” spirals uncontrolled as increasingly more bass gamers inexplicably be a part of him on stage.
The sketch, from this week’s Saturday Night Live, was clearly aimed toward a particular demographic — and so they’re celebrating the popularity this morning. “There are tears of pleasure streaming down the faces of faculty bass gamers in every single place. You might be lastly seen,” wrote one commenter on the video’s YouTube web page. Added one other: “Bassist right here, like to see the various illustration of our… vivid neighborhood.” (Editor’s Notice: Now may also be time to plug our Top 100 Bassists list.)
Together with “Bass Lake,” different highlights of the Black-hosted SNL episode included a music video referred to as “Goth Kid on Vacation” which noticed the actor/musician parody My Chemical Romance, and a bonkers Flamin’ Hot Preparation H commercial.
