    Jared Leto to Play Skeletor in Masters of the Universe Movie

    Three years faraway from his efficiency 2021’s Home of Gucci, Jared Leto is ready to don a bald cap but once more, this time swapping out the skullet of Paolo Gucci for the literal cranium of Eternia’s biggest supervillain, Skeletor, within the upcoming live-action movie of Masters of the Universe.

    Directed by Travis Knight, Amazon MGM’s upcoming adaptation of the beloved cartoon is due in theaters on June fifth, 2026. Together with Leto’s Skeletor, the movie stars Nicholas Galitzine as He-Man and Alison Brie as Skeletor’s lieutenant, Evil-Lyn.

    Rounding out the forged are Home of the Dragon’s Sam C. Wilson as Entice Jaw; Sport of Thrones’ Hafthor Bjornsson as Goat Man; Riverdale’s Camila Mendes as He-Man’s companion, Teela; and Idris Elba as Teela’s father, Man-at-Arms.

    A live-action movie based mostly on Masters of the Universe was first introduced as a Netflix mission earlier this decade, with Kyle Allen set to star. Earlier this 12 months, although, Amazon MGM introduced their acquisition of the mission, and tapped Knight to direct, with Escape Artists and Mattel Movies producing the movie.

    The live-action movie is unbiased of Kevin Smith’s Grasp of Universe animated sequence for Netflix. The latest installment, Masters of the Universe: Revolution, arrived in January 2024.

    As for Leto, he’ll star in the upcoming Tron: Ares subsequent 12 months, and is ready to portray Karl Lagerfeld in an upcoming biopic. Earlier this 12 months, he guest hosted an episode of Wheel of Fortune as an April Idiot’s prank.
