Though Oasis’ highly anticipated tour doesn’t kick off till July, Liam Gallagher has spent 2024 hitting all the precise notes — at the least in line with PETA. After sharing the story of adopting his canine, Buttons, the animal rights group has chosen to present him the Strike the Proper Chord for Animals Award.
Gallagher adopted the canine, which had been deserted in Thailand, again in 2023. Since then, he’s been sharing snippets of life with Buttons on social media; scroll beneath for some highlights.
“Rescuing Buttons has been the perfect resolution we’ve ever made,” Gallagher shared in a press release. “She brings a lot happiness to our lives and everybody she meets. We’re so fortunate to have her; we’re obsessed. I totally advocate adopting a homeless canine.”
“Liam’s compassionate transfer comes at a time when animal shelters throughout the UK and elsewhere are reporting spiking numbers of animal abandonment circumstances,” noted PETA. “By opening his coronary heart and residential to a canine desperately in want of a loving household, Liam has set an exquisite instance for his legions of followers in contrast to different out-of-touch celebrities who buy ‘pedigree’ breeds.”
“Let there be love for animals in shelters,” the group continued, referencing the band’s 2005 tune.
As we inch nearer to the Oasis reunion tour, Liam beforehand acknowledged that he and his brother had no intention of doing press all through the upcoming run. Possibly questions on Buttons will likely be an exception.
Oasis’ first exhibits since 2009 will see them enjoying the UK and Ireland, Australia, North America, and South America.
