    An funding group involving Leonardo DiCaprio has reportedly acquired closing approval to construct a luxurious resort close to Tel Aviv, Israel. The actor holds a ten% stake within the sprawling beachfront venture, with the remainder break up between The Harag Group and brothers Ahikam and Lior Cohen.

    In accordance with The Jerusalem Post, the eco-certified resort at Herzliya Marina will include 14 flooring with 365 rooms, following a request that dramatically expanded the venture from its initially proposed 10,000 sq. meters in 2018 to its present 51,000 sq. meters.

    DiCaprio, a longtime environmental activist, has apparently spearheaded the resort’s sustainability effort and its aim of compliance with the US Inexperienced Constructing Council and Management in Power and Environmental Design (LEED) requirements.

    “Inexperienced environmental growth is a big a part of constructing communities that work in partnership with nature and never towards it,” he stated when the venture was introduced. “As we search to create a future that heads off essentially the most extreme results of local weather change, we’d like tasks that push for brand spanking new developments in environmental design.”

    Past environmental issues, nonetheless, a higher controversy has emerged, with critics questioning how DiCaprio’s funding aligns along with his function as a United Nations Messenger for Peace.

    As Far Out Magazine factors out, he has been silent on the battle in Gaza, which UN Secretary-Normal António Guterres described in July 2024 as a “humanitarian disaster of epic proportions” and “an ethical stain on us all.”

    As of now, DiCaprio has but to reply to the criticism.
