Lykke Li has launched a brand new EP of covers.
Titled Covers, the three-song venture sees the Swedish singer ship renditions of “Into My Arms” by Nick Cave & The Dangerous Seeds, “Stand By Me” by Ben E. King, and “Love Hurts’ by The Everly Brothers, showcasing her haunting croon and knack for minimalist preparations.
The duvet of “Into My Arms,” particularly, builds off the stripped again tone of Cave’s authentic, constructing out the sonic area with an ethereal, swirling environment and reverb-clad melodies, all whereas retaining the intimacy of Cave’s lyrics.
Covers arrives in the present day by way of Play It Once more Sam as a shock, and may be streamed beneath.
Covers is Li’s first assortment of songs since her 2022 album, EYEYE, and follows one other cowl (of Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire”) launched in March 2024.
