A lawyer for Duane “Keffe D” Davis, the person charged with murdering Tupac Shakur, has filed a movement to dismiss the case, The Associated Press studies. Carl Arnold, Davis’ legal professional, argues that the delay in prosecution and the obvious waiving of prior immunity agreements violate his shopper’s constitutional rights.

Davis, who has been behind bars since his arrest in 2023, claims he was granted immunity after confessing to a task within the murder throughout a 2008 investigation. Arnold mentioned in a information launch, “The prosecution has didn’t justify a decades-long delay that has irreversibly prejudiced my shopper. Furthermore, the failure to honor immunity agreements undermines the prison justice system’s integrity and severely questions this prosecution.”

The case’s most up-to-date revival was launched on the premise of what prosecutor Marc DiGiacomo has referred to as “voluminous” proof indicating that Davis did in actual fact fireplace the pictures that killed Tupac, which Davis, who has pleaded not responsible to first-degree homicide, denies. He says his descriptions of orchestrating the drive-by capturing, together with in his personal memoir, had been “executed for leisure functions and to earn money,” The AP notes. At current, the trial continues to be set to go forward on March 17.
