Marvel Officially Brings Back Captain America’s Best Suit In Avengers: Doomsday

Avengers: Doomsday will see the return of Captain America’s best suit from his Marvel Cinematic Universe appearances, and I could not be more thrilled. Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers is back, with the hero now confirmed to be part of the cast of the MCU’s next Avengers movie. That means Marvel will have two different versions of Captain America onscreen at the same time.

That is due to Steve’s latest appearance in the MCU’s Avengers movies, as the hero passed on his shield and the Captain America mantle to Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson. The latter wore a couple of different Captain America suits that differed in design and equipment from Evans’. Now, the upcoming MCU movie goes back to the franchise’s heyday for a suit return.

The Avengers: Doomsday Trailer Brings Back Captain America’s Latest Suit

Surprisingly, instead of releasing a full teaser for the MCU’s next Avengers movie, the first Avengers: Doomsday trailer was solely focused on Chris Evans’ Captain America. Steve Rogers was revealed to be a father, living his happily ever after with Peggy Carter, who was not shown onscreen. While brief, the teaser showed a snippet of a returning Captain America suit.

Evans was seen holding my favorite MCU Captain America suit, the new one from Avengers: Endgame. That suit is special because it finally incorporated the scales from Captain America’s classic Marvel Comics design into his MCU suit. It is the perfect example of how to modernize a superhero suit while paying respect to what came before and not overdesigning. It is perfect.

Will Chris Evans’ Captain America Wear His Avengers: Endgame Suit In Doomsday?

The only problem with the return of Captain America’s Avengers: Endgame suit is the fact that we do not yet know if he will wear it. In the Avengers: Doomsday trailer, Steve Rogers is seen looking at his Endgame costume, which the Marvel hero proceeds to fold and put away in a box. With the reveal of his son, things become complicated.

It seems like Marvel Studios is telling fans that Steve Rogers has left his days of being a superhero behind, now focusing on his duties as a father. There are two ways in which the Avengers: Endgame Captain America suit reveal could go. Either Steve puts it on, appealing to the fans’ nostalgia, as he is called to save the multiverse, or he wears something else.

In any case, Steve will surely get in on the fight against Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom. However, given that Sam Wilson is the MCU’s active Captain America, he might do it with a different kind of superhero moniker, or perhaps just regular clothes. This would allow Steve to return while keeping Sam firmly as the MCU’s Captain America in Avengers: Doomsday.
