Meghan Markle is never far away from headlines, and unfortunately, her latest venture has not been taken kindly, as her Holiday special, With Love, Meghan series has debuted with a 0% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
It’s a rare thing to debut a series with 0% on Rotten Tomatoes, but based on five critics’ reviews, it appears that Holiday Celebration – With Love, Meghan has managed to disappoint. Some critics label it as “Stepford Wives“, “a little bit sad“, and the special has “manic energy.”
Markle hasn’t been looked at kindly in the press, which doesn’t help reviews for her series; however, the general audience also didn’t look at the series kindly and only gave it a 13% rating. With over 100 ratings, some stated it was “boring,” while others simply said that it was “very inauthentic.”
With Love, Meghan debuted on March 4, 2025, and has 16 episodes, and the latest Christmas special. The overall show has a 38% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which is a significant improvement from the Holiday episode.
The Netflix series shows the former royal on her California estate as she invites friends and famous guests, where she cooks, gardens, and shares tricks of the trade.
Celebrity chef Jameson Stocks, who cooked for King Charles and was honored with a King’s Trust award, spoke to Express and shared his thoughts on the Holiday special:
“It’s the same old, dull routine. A sluggish, predictable episode stretching the previous season’s boredom, filled with pointless name-dropping and meaningless recipe segments. Honestly, I think viewers only stick around to catch a glimpse of Prince Harry at the end — who inexplicably wanders into someone else’s kitchen and suddenly appears behind her at the stove.”
Markle and Prince Harry famously moved their family from Britain and decided to no longer partake in Royal duties, which inevitably caused outrage amongst the public. Markle is known for her role in Suits, and stepped away from acting when she settled down with Prince Harry.
The couple later appeared in an all-exposing interview with Oprah in 2021, which detailed their experience amongst the Royals. Due to their displeasure with the society they were a part of, Markle and Harry decided to move to a different country and take a major step back from the royal family.
The series may not be a successful avenue for Markle and co., it appears that this could be the final episode, unless viewership is enough to continue With Love, Meghan.
