Naslen Wraps Filming For Abhinav Sunder Nayak’s Mollywood Times

Mollywood Times has officially completed filming after a lengthy eighty-day schedule, marking the return of Abhinav Sunder Nayak to direction following his well-received debut Mukundan Unni Associates. The project is produced by Ashiq Usman and brings together an ensemble that includes Sangeeth Prathap of Premalu fame and Sharaf U Dheen in key roles.

A Star to Watch in a Film Wrapped in Secrecy

Scripted by Ramu Sunil, who earlier co-wrote Rekhachithram, the film remains tightly guarded in terms of plot. What has captured attention is its provocative tagline A Hate Letter to Cinema, which hints at an insider perspective on the triumphs and chaos of the film world. With Hridayam cinematographer Viswajith Odukkathil handling the visuals and Jakes Bejoy composing the score, Mollywood Times appears to be shaping up as a stylish, self-aware take on the industry.

The combination of Abhinav’s sharp editing roots, Viswajith’s warm visual palette, and Jakes Bejoy’s mood driven music suggests a film that will balance commentary with cinematic flair. Though details remain under wraps, the project is already generating curiosity, especially among fans who appreciate Malayalam cinema’s growing appetite for meta storytelling.

    Naslen’s Fast Rising Lineup

For Naslen, Mollywood Times is another step in a busy and fast rising career. The actor, last seen in Lokah Chapter One Chandra, has been steadily expanding his repertoire with roles that mix humour, relatability, and youthful energy. His upcoming projects include Asif Ali’s Tiki Taka and Tharun Moorthy’s anticipated Torpedo, which features Fahadh Faasil, Arjun Das, and Ganapathi.

Over the past few years, Naslen has shown a knack for picking scripts that showcase his personality-driven approach to performance. From Thanneer Mathan Dinangal to Super Sharanya and Premalu, he has carved a place among the most promising young voices in the industry. Mollywood Times places him inside a world that is both familiar and provocative, allowing him to play with ideas of fame, failure, and the cost of creativity.

Abhinav Sunder Nayak’s return to filmmaking has also sparked interest. Mukundan Unni Associates won attention for its sly humour and morally ambiguous protagonist, and Mollywood Times seems poised to continue that tonal signature while pushing deeper into commentary about the act of film making itself.

With filming wrapped, the project now moves into postproduction, setting the stage for teasers, music releases, and a clear sense of the narrative ahead. Until then, curiosity is likely to stay high, especially with a tagline that promises more bite than nostalgia.
