After all the success Phasmophobia has earned, it’s wild to thinkit’s still in Early Access. Although the co-op ghost-hunting phenomenon has since moved from PC to PS5 and Xbox, it’s officially joining the Switch 2 family as of next year.
Developer Kinetic Games revealed live at The Game Awards that Phasmophobia is not only coming to Switch 2 in 2026, but that the 1.0 version of the game is still planned to release next year.
Phasmophobia Is Set For Switch 2
Now It’ll Be On All The Major Consoles
Phasmophobia has been a runaway success since it launched in Early Access in 2020, and everything is coming together for its wide release. It hit the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in 2024, and as of today, it will arrive on Switch 2 in 2026. That move solidifies their console release strategy, as it will now hit all three major console platforms.
Here’s what Kinetic Games CEO and Game Director, Daniel Knight had to say about the announcement:
“We’re over the moon to reveal that Phasmophobia is coming to Nintendo Switch 2. It’s something both our community and all of us at Kinetic Games have wanted for a long time, so we’re really happy this long-kept secret is finally out there. With 1.0 on track for 2026, it’s an exciting time to have new players get to experience the game. We’re so glad that Switch 2 players will be able to join us for everything that’s coming, as well as jump into the wealth of content we’ve added throughout 2025.”
At this point, the game has 14 maps, which include the Nell’s Diner location from this year. Kinetic Games also shared that the game has reached “over 25 million in global sales,” as their latest sales figure.
Phasmophobia 1.0 Is Still Slated For 2026
Even Still, It Has 25 Million In Sales
Given how long fans have waited (and how many are waiting in the wings for Early Access to end before buying it), 2026 feels like an attainable goal for Phasmophobia 1.0. If the Switch 2 version coincides with that, it would sweeten the deal even further.
In any case, Phasmophobia is still going strong after all these years. 2026 could be one of its strongest years yet.
