Maruthi’s upcoming horror-comedy The Raja Saab, headlined by Prabhas, is set to hit theatres on January 9, 2026, as a Sankranthi release. Ahead of its theatrical debut, the film has successfully cleared the certification process with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The clearance came after the makers implemented the suggested edits and modifications. This paved the way for its big-screen arrival.

The CBFC has given the movie a UA 16+ certificate. It now has a runtime of 189 minutes or 3 hours 9 minutes. On December 24, 2025, the makers were asked to remove visuals of blood washing on the floor. The changes made the 35-second-long scene into monochrome to avoid gory visuals. The CBFC had asked for another change. It was of flash visuals of cutting a head. The makers went ahead to remove the 4-second scene. The CBFC directives also asked the makers to modify AD (audio description) and CC (closed captioning) parts.

At the box office, the film is clashing with Vijay’s final film Jana Nayagan, Sivakarthikeyan’s Tamil film Parasakthi and Chiranjeevi’s Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu. Naveen Polishetty’s Anaganaga Oka Raju and Sharwanand’s Nari Nari Naduma Murari are also releasing around that time.

Alongside Prabhas, the movie also stars Sanjay Dutt, Boman Irani, Nidhhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan, Riddhi Kumar and Zarina Wahab in leading roles.
