Fashion stylist Anisha Jain also talks about the resilience it took for the group to survive that period. “2020 was a lot and we did what we had to. I don’t know where that courage came from,” she admits. Adding another deeply personal layer, Rhea’s friend Samiksha Shetty recalls a surprising moment when Rhea walked up to her and said, “We have to do this one thing.” Expecting something casual, Samiksha was taken aback when Rhea instead suggested, “Let’s go freeze our eggs.”
Rhea’s life was turned upside down in 2020 when she was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau in connection with alleged drug links related to Sushant’s death. She spent 28 days in judicial custody before being granted bail by the Bombay High Court. Years later, in 2025, the Central Bureau of Investigation submitted its closure report, giving Rhea and her brother Showik Chakraborty a clean chit.
Since then, Rhea has been slowly rebuilding her personal and professional life, from appearing on Roadies. She also launched Chapter Two, a podcast that chronicles her journey through loss, stigma and survival.
