Ruston Kelly has introduced a brand new EP titled Filth Emo, Vol. 2, set for launch on March 14th. As a preview, he’s shared a canopy of Avril Lavigne’s “Difficult” that includes fellow Nashville musician Annie DiRusso. Stream it beneath.

In addition to Kelly’s rendition of “Difficult,” the five-track assortment options covers of songs like Morgan Wallen’s “Sand in My Boots.” “We went to develop the idea a bit, and embody songs that have been (in my view) emo-adjacent — in addition to making it clear that ‘filth emo’ doesn’t should be a selected style, per se, however extra a temper or model by which I carry out/reinterpret a music,” the artist mentioned in an announcement. “It’s like angsty tumbleweeds or weeping holding a banjo, etcetera.”
