Carpenter launched her new album’s lead single, “Manchild,” final week. She co-wrote the music with frequent collaborators Jack Antonoff and Amy Allen.
Whereas Brief n’ Candy was Carpenter’s sixth solo studio album (together with her debut, Eyes Vast Open, arriving method again in 2015), it marked a real breakout second for the Pennsylvania-born musician. The album housed the hit singles “Espresso” and “Please Please Please,” and have become Carpenter’s first full-length to summit the Billboard 200. She additionally earned her first six Grammy nominations, due to the album and its singles. In the end, Carpenter gained the 2025 Grammy Awards for Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Pop Solo Performance (for “Espresso”).
Carpenter not too long ago performed at Primavera Sound Barcelona. After imminent exhibits in London and Chicago, she’ll proceed her Short N’ Sweet Tour within the autumn. Assist on the North American tour will come from Olivia Dean, Amber Mark, and Ravyn Lenae.
