There was no new Saturday Night Live this week. Instead, viewers were treated to a rerun of the Sabrina Carpenter-led episode.

Sabrina Carpenter’s Sexually Charged SNL Monologue

Originally airing on October 18, 2025, Carpenter acted as both the host and musical guest of the episode. The pop star started off strong with a raunchy on-brand monologue. The singer joked about her sexually charged music, stating, “I’m not just horny, I’m also turned on, and I’m sexually charged, and I love to read. My favorite book is the encyclopedia. It’s so big, and it’s hard.”

Carpenter also took the opportunity to address the controversial cover of her “Man’s Best Friend” album. She revealed that she had actually fallen over after Martin Short pushed her, and SNL (now former) cast member Bowen Yang was just helping her up by pulling her hair as a zoomed-out image showed just that.

SNL Debuts Parody Horror Movie Trailer About Social Anxiety

A horror movie trailer featuring Carpenter and Ben Marshall is an introvert’s worst nightmare. In the parody teaser, a couple thought they were going to have a quiet weekend to themselves. However, a text message reminded them that they had actually made plans months ago for Carpenter’s cousin (Sarah Sherman) to come visit. The panic deepens when they remember that her husband (Mikey Day), who loves showing people YouTube videos, is joining her.

Weekend Update Ridicules George Santos’ Early Release

Arguably, one of the bigger news stories of the week of October 18, 2025, was the shocking news about former congressman George Santos being released early from prison. The disgraced politician ended up only serving 84 days in jail when he was sentenced to seven years. Weekend Update host Colin Jost poked fun at Santos, who is known for being a compulsive liar, stating that he posted pictures of his buff new prison body.

Saturday Night Live’s Social Experiment Goes Wrong

While there were many highlights in the Saturday Night Live rerun, there were some major flops. The social experiment sketch held a lot of promise but ultimately fell flat. It features Martin Herlihy, alongside Kam Patterson, Ashley Padilla, and Jane Wickline, as they prank moviegoers by planting Frankenstein stand-ins in theaters to see how moviegoers would react. While this skit could have been funny, SNL unfortunately missed the mark by dragging it out too long while dragging it in the wrong direction.

SNL Cast Members Host Fictional Podcast As Preteen Boys

Another bit that unfortunately fell short is a group sketch about a snack-themed podcast with four very annoying preteen boys (Carpenter, Wickline, Chloe Fineman, and Veronika Slowikowska). Packed with insufferable slang, especially the overuse of the infuriating terms “fire” and “bet,” the sketch was one of the weaker segments of the night.

Saturday Night Live returns with new episodes on January 3, 2026.
