Sreeleela has recently opened up about adopting three kids at a young age of 24. During a conversation with Galatta Plus, the actress opened up about the experience of adopting kids and acting as their guardian. She spoke about taking time out for differently-abled children while catering to her hectic schedule as an actress.

Speaking about the children and the time she met them for the first time, Sreeleela said, “I fall short of words and get jittery when I talk about it. But it’s taken care of. I’m not a mother because there’s an entirely different story to that.”

The actor revealed that her involvement with the children dates back to an early phase of her Kannada film career, an association that has remained largely outside the public gaze. While she acknowledged Kiss (2019) director AP Arjun’s role in introducing her to the ashram, she emphasised that the relationship evolved independently of her professional life, sustained quietly over the years. “It was a film I did early on in my career in Kannada that my director decided to take me to an ashram. The kids live there. We speak on the phone, and I keep visiting them there. It was a secret for the longest time,” she added.

She further clarified that speaking about the initiative was a conscious decision. It was taken jointly by her and the institution to raise awareness amongst her followers. “The institution wanted me to talk about it so that more people are encouraged. I don’t want to be given credit for anything, but I want people to start looking in that direction,” she noted.
