Sweeping Promises have coated the Bangles’ Prince-penned single “Manic Monday” for a new benefit compilation supporting wildfire aid efforts. Battle for L.A.: A See/Saw Benefit is out in full right now; take a pay attention under, through Bandcamp, and discover the Sweeping Promises cover at monitor 18.

Sweeping Guarantees’ Lira Mondal mentioned in a press release, “I’ve a humorous relationship to this tune. My mother was/is a large Bangles fan, and after I was somewhat lady—like, 7 or 8—she made me memorize the tune and sing it to her co-workers within the beauty aisle of a Walmart (one in every of her many odd jobs rising up), and it’s some of the bewildering recollections I’ve of singing in public.”

See/Saw, the compilation organizer, is the unbiased, punk and rock’n’roll publication of Evan Minsker, a former Pitchfork information editor. Try its archive of podcasts, options, punk roundups, and extra.

Different artists on the compilation embody Spllit, Tyvek, Gee Tee, and extra artists from DIY scenes all over the world. Cassettes can be found to pre-order from Knuckles on Stun. All proceeds go on to folks impacted by the Eaton and Palisades Fires in Los Angeles this 12 months, the Bandcamp web page notes.
