Birch directed her new music video with Dean Chalkley. She stars within the video along with her Raincoats co-founder Ana da Silva, Neo Naturists artist Christine Binnie, singer-songwriter Amy Rigby, X-Ray Spex’s Lora Logic, painter Daisy Parris, visible artist Georgina Starr, creator Jill Westwood, artist and activist Bobby Baker, costume designer Annie Symons, British photographer Shirley O’Loughlin, and others.

In an announcement about her new video, Birch stated:

For the “Inflicting Bother Once more” video, after listening to Bob Dylan sing a few white ladder all lined with water, I grew to become obsessive about white ladders. I made a decision to make use of 5 white ladders, three with seven rungs.… I spotted later that this references Jacob’s Ladder and a connection from Earth to heaven, however I believe I used to be considering of ladders as a logo of getting on, getting up. I needed to have a choreographed motion with 4 of us with these ladders. How can we transfer with ladders? Can we transfer collectively, can we battle, can we dance?

I additionally needed to reference the wind scene from the movie The Color of Pomegranates, and to incorporate as many artist ladies from the Ladies in Revolt exhibition as I may. I needed them to be troublesome, or simply to shout “Inflicting hassle!” I ended up inviting all of the artist musician ladies I knew who may make the shoot, and it was a incredible assembly of nice ladies, a lot of whom had by no means met one another earlier than.
