Put up-rock legends Tortoise have returned with their first new track in almost a decade. The self-produced “Oganesson” is out now, by way of International Anthem and Nonesuch, and it’s only a sampling of a “bigger physique of labor” to be launched, per press supplies. “Oganesson” was recorded by Tortoise drummer John McEntire at 64 Sound in Los Angeles, Flora Recording and Playback Studios (each in Portland, Oregon), and the late Steve Albini’s Electrical Audio within the group’s dwelling metropolis of Chicago.
