A year after Wicked became a sensation, Wicked: For Good is here to wrap up Elphaba and Glinda’s stories in Oz. The sequel brings the second half of the Broadway musical to life with all the songs fans would expect, as well as two new solos for Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande to perform.
Building off Wicked‘s ending, For Good shows what’s happened to Oz after Elphaba became branded as the Wicked Witch of the West. She’ll reunite with Glinda and Fiyero (Jonathan Bailey) and do everything in her power to correct her public perception and stop The Wizard’s (Jeff Goldblum) plots from continuing.
Universal Pictures knew it had a likely hit on its hands with these Wizard of Oz-adjacent films, and there’s a real fervor surrounding the follow-up. The only decision you need to make now is figuring out how and where you’ll watch Wicked: For Good. Here’s what we know.
Wicked: For Good Releases In Theaters On November 21, 2025
Universal understandably gave Wicked: For Good an exclusive theatrical release as the first opportunity for people to see it. It hits cinemas around the world on November 21, and with it breaking pre-sale records, there’s no denying the interest in seeing it this way.
Beyond getting the first chance to see it, Wicked: For Good is playing in RealD 3D, IMAX, Dolby Cinema, 4DX, ScreenX, and D-Box, giving audiences several different experiences that can only be done in theaters.

When Will Wicked: For Good Release On Streaming?
With all the attention on its theatrical release, there has been no formal announcement about Wicked: For Good‘s streaming release date. As a Universal release, it will make its streaming debut on Peacock, and the studio’s history with these releases provides some options to predict when this will happen.
On average, a theatrically released movie from Universal goes to Peacock after about 90 days. That’d mean a February 2026 launch for this title. However, Wicked had a much longer window thanks to how well it did in theaters, and there’s no reason to think Wicked: For Good will do much worse.
Universal waited 119 days to put Wicked on streaming, and if the same approach is used here, then Wicked: For Good‘s streaming release projection is late March 2026, or March 20, 2026, to be exact. That would give it the same gap as its predecessor, How To Train Your Dragon, and Twisters, and have it come out on Friday, which is traditional for streaming releases.
When Will Wicked: For Good Release On Digital?
Universal also hasn’t signaled a digital release date for Wicked: For Good yet, but the option to buy or rent it through major PVOD platforms will come down the line. Looking at the data, we can project a late December 2025 digital release for Wicked: For Good.
The first film got a 39-day exclusive theatrical window before being made available on digital. Universal is likely to do the same here, which would make Wicked: For Good available to watch at home for the first time on December 30, which is a Tuesday, the traditional day for a film’s digital release.
Thanks to the first movie’s example, there is a clear roadmap to where you can watch Wicked: For Good whether you’re rushing to a theater or waiting until you can watch it on your couch.
