Oscar-winning actor Will Smith was recently in Dubai for the premiere of National Geographic’s Pole to Pole with Will Smith, where he spoke about his long-standing interest in working with Bollywood. During a red-carpet chat with Gulf News, the actor shared that he would love to be part of an Indian film and revealed that he has previously had conversations with some of Hindi cinema’s biggest stars.

While several Indian actors like Deepika Padukone, Aishwarya Rai and Priyanka Chopra have crossed over to Hollywood, the reverse has been relatively rare. Speaking about his own attempts, Will said, “I was talking to Salman. We had things we were talking about. I was trying to get into something with Big B, you know. He told me I could be Big W, so we were cool – we were sharing the title. There were a couple of things over the years… nothing panned out.”

He also made it clear that Shah Rukh Khan is very much on his wish list. In a lighthearted moment, Will openly invited the superstar to cast him, saying, “I want Shah Rukh to put me in something, Shah Rukh what’s up.” Shah Rukh Khan is currently busy with King, an upcoming Siddharth Anand directorial that also features Suhana Khan, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan and Jaideep Ahlawat, and promises a darker, action-heavy avatar of the actor.
