There are only three must-watch new Apple TV series to watch this weekend, September 25–27, 2026, and each offers a little something for everybody. Between a fan-favorite sports dramedy, a long-running spy thriller, and a brand-new comedy series starring two of Hollywood’s biggest A-listers, ScreenRant’s TV experts have you covered with the very best shows worth your time this weekend.

Other notable Apple TV series worth checking out include the dystopian sci-fi Silo, which recently wrapped up its third season, Widow’s Bay, which just set an all-time record for a comedy series at the 2026 Emmys with 14 wins, and Your Friends & Neighbors, which stars the incomparable Jon Hamm. That said, if you’re looking for the newest releases on Apple TV, these three original series will do the trick.

    Ted Lasso

Ted Lasso is a must-watch on Apple TV this weekend following its new episode drop on Wednesday, September 23. With only two episodes remaining of its long-awaited season 4, now is the perfect time to start watching the latest season if you haven’t already. Ted Lasso holds Apple TV’s #1 worldwide spot at the time of writing and should continue to do so until its season 4 finale arrives on October 7.

Critics and audiences both agree that Ted Lasso season 4 was well worth the wait, earning an 89% Rotten Tomatoes score, which nearly ties season 1’s rating. Most of the acclaimed ensemble cast returned for season 4 as well, including Jason Sudeikis as Ted Lasso, Hannah Waddingham as Rebecca Welton, Brett Goldstein as Roy Kent, Brendan Hunt as Coach Beard, Jeremy Swift as Leslie Higgins, and Juno Temple as Keeley Jones. If you’re in the mood for something light to watch this weekend, make it Ted Lasso on Apple TV.

    Brothers

Brothers is the biggest new streaming release on Apple TV heading into the weekend, starring longtime friends and Hollywood stars Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey. The series is “based on a true rumor” that Harrelson and McCounghey might actually be biological brothers, although the leading duo definitely lean into that idea for the sake of their new series. Brothers marks the first time that Harrelson and McCounghey have co-starred in a series together since True Detective season 1.

Brothers begins with Harrelson coming to visit McConaughey, who both play exaggerated versions of themselves, at his home in Austin, Texas. In true Apple TV style, the series combines comedic and dramatic elements that procure a similar feeling to shows like Shrinking and Stick. Brothers released its first two episodes earlier this week and has already climbed to Apple TV’s #4 worldwide viewership spot in just a few days. The series earned a 76% Rotten Tomatoes audience score and is worth watching for fans of light buddy comedies.

    Slow Horses

Slow Horses has proven once again with its newly premiered season 6 why it’s one of the very best spy thrillers/dark comedy series on any streaming platform. Slow Horses season 6, episode 2, just came out on Wednesday, September 23, leaving just four more episodes to be released this year. While you could wait to binge all six episodes when the finale drops on October 21, Slow Horses season 6 is just too much fun to miss out on this weekend, as evidenced by its perfect 100% Rotten Tomatoes score.

3 Best Netflix Series To Binge-Watch This Weekend (Sept 25–27, 2026)

The best new Netflix series to binge-watch this weekend, Sept 25–27, 2026, include a #1 horror hit, a fantastical game show & a long-awaited reboot.

Slow Horses is also one of Apple TV’s biggest streaming hits heading into the weekend, currently ranking #2 on worldwide viewership charts and trailing only Ted Lasso. Gary Oldman’s celebrated Apple TV series is also fresh off an Emmy win for one of its directors, Saul Metzstein, and has two more seasons already confirmed ahead of its season 6 finale. Take this as your sign that the hype for Slow Horses is very real, making it the best show to watch on Apple TV right now.
