    Oscars 2025: Elton John, Emilia Pérez, and More Nominated for Best Original Song

    The Greatest Unique Music nominees for the 2025 Oscars are in. The Academy of Movement Image Arts and Sciences’ picks within the class are “Mi Camino” and “El Mal” from Emilia Pérez, “By no means Too Late” from Elton John: By no means Too Late, “The Journey” from The Six Triple Eight, and “Like a Fowl” from Sing Sing. The Oscars ceremony, which takes place on March 2 at Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, will break from custom by airing behind-the-scenes insights on the making of the songs instead of stay performances, Variety stories.

    Formally, Clément Ducol and Camille are nominated for each Emilia Pérez songs (with director Jacques Audiard additionally being nominated for co-writing the lyrics to “El Mal”). Diane Warren is the nominee for The Six Triple Eight’s “The Journey”; Abraham Alexander and Black Pumas’ Adrian Quesada wrote the nominated Sing Sing monitor; and Elton John, Brandi Carlile, Andrew Watt, and Bernie Taupin are the nominees for “By no means Too Late.” See the performers of every track under.

    The class’s pre-nomination shortlist was revealed in December, with a variety of songs that didn’t obtain ultimate nominations. These embrace tracks carried out by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, Kneecap, Robbie Williams, Kristen Wiig, Saoirse Ronan and Nicholas Britell, and Pharrell Williams.

    Final 12 months’s Best Original Song winners have been Billie Eilish and Finneas, who netted Barbie its sole statuette with their track “What Was I Made For?”
