    Shamir has introduced what he’s calling his closing album. Described in press supplies as a group of “songs written by these closest to him, unused demos, and castaways given a brand new life,” Ten is due this spring through Kill Rock Stars. It’s led by the only “Neverwannago,” which was written by the Portland, Oregon, musician Andrew Harmon, and is out immediately alongside a Matthew Ober–directed music video that includes August Nandé.     After breaking out, in 2015, together with his debut studio album, Ratchet, Shamir spent the following decade regularly pushing his sound in new instructions, constructing what he has described as an “anti-career.” His twin lo-fi releases from 2017, Hope and Revelations, have been each recorded on to four-track, whereas 2020’s self-titled record encompassed people, nation, indie-rock, and dance-pop. Shamir’s newest albums, Heterosexuality and Homo Anxietatem, got here out in 2022 and 2023, respectively.
