Doechii enlisted SZA for the heady new clapback track, “girl, get up.”

The song is produced by Jay Versace and based around irresistible Neptunes drums from “What Happened to That Boy” by Baby featuring Clipse. Doechii opens with a knotty pack of internal rhymes (“Sippin’ my kombucha on a rooftop/
Smokin’ blue dream on my karma sutra,”) before pulling back to silence the haters: “You suck every rap n**** dick from the back/ But what’s the agenda when the It Girl Black?”

Doechii also hints that a new LP is on the way, with more thoughts on the obstacles placed in front of creative women: “These n****s misogynistic, I’ll address it on the album/ For now, let’s sink into the fact that hate don’t make you powerful.”

Meanwhile, SZA floats the hook across each chorus. She coos, “I be in the back, levitatin’,” and wailing the refrain, “Somеhow I know that I’ll have everything that’s mine.”

The “girl, get up” visualizer was directed by James Mackel and you can check it out below.

Doechii has a few South American tour dates coming up, with tickets available here.
