Liberation Weekend is back for a second year. Laura Jane Grace, Ekko Astral and friends, and Illuminati Hotties (playing Free I.H.) will headline the festival benefitting trans liberation and mutual aid at the Black Cat in Washington, D.C., from April 24 to 26. Ezra Furman, Pool Kids, and Pissed Jeans are also among the first wave of artists. Lineups will soon be announced for the festival’s nightly afterparties at Transmission.

Others on the bill include Pretty Bitter, Bambara, Ragana, Pinky Lemon, Snowing, Gladie, Spring Silver, Thisdogllhunt, Eevie Echoes & the Locations, Mx Lonely, and Adult Human Females. The festival will mark Ekko Astral drummer Miri Tyler’s final performance with the band. You can check out the lineup posters below.

Ekko Astral launched Liberation Weekend in 2025 alongside the Gender Liberation Movement, a grassroots collective fighting for trans people’s rights to bodily autonomy and self-determination on a national scale.
