After a phenomenal run in theatres and scoring Rs 1,000 crore at the box office, Dhurandhar finally had its digital release on January 30. The film had a quiet debut at midnight, prompting fans to rush to Netflix to rewatch the film. Others who didn’t get a chance to watch it in cinemas, also tuned in to catch the Hindi film dubbed in Tamil and Telugu.
However, the OTT release didn’t quite land as expected. Viewers were quick to notice a major change, the film, which carried an ‘A’ certificate in theatres, appeared to be censored on streaming.
Soon after the film began streaming, social media was flooded with complaints and sharp criticism from viewers, with fans accusing the streaming platform of muting dialogues, censoring abusive language and trimming a total of 10 minutes of the film. Fuming over the edits, fans of the Aditya Dhar directorial took to their handles to say that they had expected an uncensored version following its theatrical run. Several users even questioned the logic of censoring an adult film on an over-18 platform.
Take a look at what fans have to say about the censored streaming version
Was waiting eagerly but why isn’t it completely uncensored ? Words like BC & MC are still censored along with the word Baloch in Chaudhary Aslam introduction. If Kabir Singh can be released completely uncensored then so should this. That’s the liberty of OTTs in my eyes. https://t.co/CukuWw4syL

Not the person to rant on language but they should have dubbed in kannada too.
I remember, the day we walked out of this movie at midnight & stopped for tea, the tea shop guy got excited looking at us hyped & asked if the movie is dubbed in kannada, feel sad for those folks. https://t.co/uktyzZfovn

All the guys who said Uncut or Uncensored version were just engagement farming!
According to new rules only theatre version is released in OTT!
U can’t add anything extra, or else it must be sent for censorship again! https://t.co/dBN0qg1Xyt— Honest Kohli fan (@Captain_Kohli49) January 29, 2026
Dhurandhar has finally released on Netflix, but what’s surprising is that it’s clearly a censored version.
OTT platforms were meant to be free from theatrical censorship.
Viewers are already used to seeing explicit content, nudity and adult scenes across multiple series without… https://t.co/sW2ia7R7sS— Arjun (@ArjunxTweets) January 30, 2026
