After Sanjay Dutt, actress Nora Fatehi appeared before the National Commission for Women (NCW) regarding the controversy over the song Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke from the film KD: The Devil. She clarified in front of the commission that she never intended to hurt sentiments and apologised. She also said that she was ‘put in that situation.’
She appeared before the Commission in Delhi on Thursday after being summoned. Earlier, the actress had stated that she only shot for the Kannada version of the song, and her consent was not sought before the track was dubbed in Hindi. The Hindi lyrics created a major uproar for their vulgar lines and connotations.

Stating that she understands the responsibility that comes with being a public artist, Nora said, “I did appear before the Commission, and I apologised. It was just a situation that I was put in, and there was no intention to offend anybody, but of course, I have to be responsible as an artist. I definitely apologised, we have done everything in writing.”

She added that she would sponsor the education of orphaned girls as a corrective step.
“They have been so kind and helpful. It’s really important for us to give back to society. So, I decided that we should sponsor a few orphan girls, their education, so that is the goal after this matter,” Nora added.

A couple of weeks ago, Sanjay Dutt also appeared before the Commission and vowed to sponsor the education of 50 tribal girls as a corrective measure.

The Hindi version of the Kannada song was released on March 15 on YouTube. However, following outrage over the lyrics and the NCW’s intervention, the song was pulled down from the platform. The film is directed by Prem and stars Dhruv Sarja, Sanjay Dutt and others.
