The “Claypool Gold Tour” launched on Wednesday evening, May 20th, as a celebration of all things Les Claypool. The singer-bassist’s bands Primus, the Claypool Lennon Delirium, and the Fearless Flying Frog Brigade all graced the stage of the Reno Events Center in Nevada.
Claypool kicked off the evening with the Frog Brigade, playing five songs with his jammy side project, which re-formed a few years ago featuring a new lineup that includes guitarist Sean Ono Lennon (son of John Lennon) and keyboardist Harry Waters (son of Roger Waters), among others.

Next up, the Claypool Lennon Delirium tore through five of their songs before being joined by Claypool’s Primus bandmates for a cover of Pink Floyd’s “Astronomy Domine.”
Primus then took over, playing 10 songs from their vast catalog, including the live debut of their new single “The Ol’ Grizz,” and classics like “My Name Is Mud” and “Jerry Was a Race Car Driver.”

The evening wrapped up with all three bands onstage performing Primus’ “Southbound Pachyderm,” bringing the Claypool-apalooza to a roaring end.
