After the exciting reveal of Final Fantasy 7 Revelation at this month’s Summer Game Fest, fans are counting down the days for its official release next year. Rumors had been circulating like wildfire over the game’s official title, explorable map size, and more, and after an extensive preview at SGF, hype for the final chapter in the remake trilogy is at an all-time high.

To gear up for Revelation‘s official launch next year, fans are almost certainly going to be replaying the first two games in the coming months for a refresher, and Square Enix is sure to reveal additional gameplay and cinematic footage during their marketing push in that time as well.

By all accounts, the Summer Game Fest reveal was just the beginning of the ride on the Revelation hype train, and it’s going to be an exciting several months up until its release. And if you’re looking for a unique way to amp yourself up for Revelation’s release next year, Final Fantasy 7: Hollow is officially available to check out now (via SiliconEra).

Final Fantasy 7: Hollow is a brand-new music video covering the “Hollow” theme song from FF7: Remake performed by the band Survive Said the Prophet. It’s an absolute banger featuring clips from Final Fantasy 7 Remake: Intergrade, which the lead singer of the group, Yosh Morita, originally performed the track for. The clip is only available via the band’s official YouTube channel, which you can watch here:

While it’s short and sweet, the full-band cover of the original theme song hits on every level and is well worth a listen if you’re a fan of post-hardcore, alt-rock, metalcore, etc., and it will only take about a minute of your time. Currently, there doesn’t seem to be an official release of the cover anywhere else aside from the band’s official YouTube page, but that could certainly change in the future.

For the uninitiated, Survive Said the Prophet is a Japanese rock band known for blending post-hardcore, alternative rock, metalcore, pop, electronic, hip-hop, and R&B influences. Formed in Tokyo, the band is fronted by bilingual vocalist Yosh (who sang the original “Hollow” theme song on FF7 Remake), whose English and Japanese lyrics help shape their signature international sound.

They gained wider recognition through anime themes, including songs for Vinland Saga and Banana Fish, and they have a serious cult following among anime enthusiasts especially, though their music is well worth checking out regardless. “Hollow” is sure to get gamers hyped to dive back into the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy ahead of Revelation’s release next year, and you can listen to it for free now.
