Does Clint Eastwood have another one in him? That’s yet to be foreseen, but he may not be retired as believed.

Scott Eastwood, the son of the iconic actor and director, recently told ScreenRant that he hasn’t heard his father say he’s retired, bringing into question what appeared to be a definitive statement about the senior Eastwood hanging it up from his other son, Kyle Eastwood.

“We’ll see,” Scott said when asked by ScreenRant to clarify Kyle’s remarks about their father’s retirement. “I have not heard that from his (Clint’s) mouth at all. So I don’t know what that feels like.” Scott went on to praise his father’s body of work, calling it inspiring.

In early June, it was believed that Eastwood, who turned 96 on May 31, had quietly rode off into the sunset, never to be seen behind or in front of the camera again. That was when a November 2025 interview with Kyle in the French publication France Info, surfaced. In it Kyle said, “I have many fond memories of working with (my father). Now he’s retired, he’s 95 years old. But I was very lucky to be able to work with him on quite a few films.” Entertainment news outlets published pieces announcing Eastwood was finished after Kyle’s interview came to light. Now, it appears the rumors of his retirement may have been greatly exaggerated.

Juror No. 2 from 2024 was Eastwood’s latest film, a directorial effort. In 2025, what Eastwood called a “phony” interview came out claiming he wasn’t done directing. Some murmurs have been heard about pre-production for a final film, but no new information has come out. Eastwood’s latest on-screen role was in 2021’s Cry Macho, which he also directed. With 40 films directed, Eastwood won four Oscars in his career for Best Picture and Best Director of 1992’s Unforgiven and 2004’s Million Dollar Baby. A 20-film box set of his work is currently available on Amazon.
