Maja Radanovic didn’t have a remarkably dramatic weight loss journey during her time on My 600-lb Life, but has since improved her life and health in a transformative way. Maja’s story highlighted the complexities of a toxic relationship and how it contributed to her overall weight loss and inability to move forward. Featured in My 600-lb Life season 7, which premiered in February 2019, Maja was someone who struggled to take accountability for herself and her choices, especially when it came to her health. She sought help from Dr. Now, but didn’t know how to apply his instructions at home.

With the filming schedule of My 600-lb Life, it’s likely Maja’s story was mostly filmed in 2018. In season 7 alone, 20 different people’s weight loss journeys were highlighted. Dr. Younan Nowzaradan (Dr. Now) and his team in Houston, Texas, have helped all the My 600-lb Life participants as they’ve sought better for their health and lives. The eventual goal is for the patients to undergo bariatric surgery to help them have an easier chance of losing weight. Maja’s story was not a simple one, but she has been able to overcome a lot since her time on the show.

    Maya Radanovic’s Background

The Oregon native was 33 when she debuted on the hit TLC show, starting at over 690 pounds. Not only did she depend on her boyfriend for everything, but she was emotionally drained by physical pain, including discomfort linked with swelling. When she debuted on the show, Dr. Now immediately recommended a specific diet and workout plan that would help her lose enough weight to qualify for bariatric surgery. Maja’s weight problem began at a young age after her parents divorced. The breakup led Maja to seek comfort in food, which soon became the reason for her considerable weight gain.

To make matters worse, Maja’s family bullied her, which negatively impacted her self-esteem and mental health. While working at a fast food restaurant, Maja put on pounds, and this decreased her chances of conceiving a baby. For that reason, the My 600-lb Life alum’s fiancé left her, leaving her heartbroken (via TLC UK.) Throughout her episode of the show, Maja tried to follow Dr. Now’s plan but ultimately lost only 93 pounds. Unfortunately, Maja needed to lose far more weight in order to qualify for the bariatric surgery she needed. Struggling in her relationships, Maja wasn’t sure how to proceed.

While Maja couldn’t transform herself on My 600-lb Life, or qualify for the surgery, she didn’t give up on her goals. Despite not having any support system, she kept fighting to lose weight and promised her doctor that she would continue making progress. According to The Cinemaholic, Maja kept her promise and lost enough weight for the procedure. The reality star knows she isn’t where she wants to be yet, but she understands that her life is still better than it was a few years ago. My 600-lb Life star has emotionally healed and is determined to become even healthier.

How My 600-Lb Life Star Maja Radanovic Looks Now

Maja’s latest social media posts show that she looks fitter than ever. While she hasn’t revealed how much weight she has lost, her photos suggest that she must have shed between 150 and 200 pounds. In July 2022, Maja shared a full-body picture of herself, making it clear that she had greatly improved her physique. The caption with the Instagram post suggests that the My 600-lb Life cast member now lives an active lifestyle, hanging out and traveling to different locations. Some of her other photos show her walking around the Long Beach area alongside her loving, “mom and grammie.”

Over the last few years, Maja’s occasionally been active on her social media accounts, but she has not historically been a heavy social media user. Regardless, Maja’s posts reveal that she’s made major strides in the years since her weight loss surgery. She’s posted photos with a new love, sharing her family on Instagram in a late 2025 post. Now that Maja has been able to drop significant weight, she is closer to living the life she wants to live. Since the My 600-lb Life alum doesn’t update much, the assumption is she stays in good health and remains happy.
