Shah Rukh Khan’s King is one of the most anticipated Bollywood releases of this year. The Siddharth Anand directorial features an ensemble cast including Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan, Suhana Khan, Raghav Juyal and Arshad Warsi, among many others. Recently, during an exclusive conversation with Filmfare, Warsi opened up about his role in the film.
He revealed that he will be seen in a small part and explained why that did not matter to him when he was approached for the project.
For Warsi, the deciding factor was his fondness for Shah Rukh Khan and his family. The actor has previously worked with SRK’s son Aryan Khan on his debut show, The Ba***ds of Bollywood. He says he was equally happy to come on board when SRK approached him for King.
“In King, I have just got a little role. I love the Khan family. When Aryan called me up for The Ba***ds of Bollywood, I did it. When Shah Rukh called me up for King, I did it. It is a small bit that I have done. I just like them. So I did it,” Warsi tells Filmfare.
Directed by Siddharth Anand, King stars Shah Rukh Khan in the lead and is being produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures. The action entertainer is scheduled to release theatrically on December 24, 2026.
Warsi, on the other hand, has several other projects lined up. He will next be seen in Jeevan Bheema Yojana, a dark comedy in which he plays a double role. He will also be seen in Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Ghamasaan, which will be released on Zee 5 on September 11. He also has Golmaal 5 in the pipeline, but the release date has not been announced yet.
