Kartik Aaryan and Sreeleela’s much-anticipated romantic drama, directed by Anurag Basu, has locked its theatrical release date. After several delays, the makers have confirmed that the film will arrive in cinemas on April 30, 2027. The project has generated considerable buzz since its announcement, particularly for bringing Kartik and Sreeleela together on screen for the first time.
Produced by Bhushan Kumar, the film was initially announced as Aashiqui 3. However, the makers have yet to reveal its official title. Despite the uncertainty surrounding its name, the romantic drama has continued to attract attention, with fans eager to see the fresh pairing on the big screen.
The release date announcement was accompanied by a glimpse of Kartik sporting a rugged, bearded look, with Sreeleela seated opposite him. The visual quickly caught fans’ attention on social media. Several behind-the-scenes clips from the shoot had also surfaced earlier, further fuelling anticipation for the film.
Known for exploring love and complicated relationships through his storytelling, Anurag Basu is expected to bring an emotionally charged romantic narrative to the screen. With Kartik and Sreeleela collaborating for the first time, the film is shaping up to be one of the notable romantic releases of 2027.
From Diwali 2025 to April 2027
The romantic drama was originally scheduled to release during Diwali 2025 but was subsequently postponed multiple times. Reports suggested that the success of Mohit Suri’s Saiyaara may have influenced the makers’ decision to delay the release, with speculation that they wanted to avoid releasing another intense musical love story too soon after the film.
Basu, however, denied speculation that the script was being reworked to avoid comparisons with Saiyaara. He clarified that the delays were primarily due to scheduling conflicts.
