Ayushmann Khurrana and Tahira Kashyap ushered in the festive season with a Diwali party at their Mumbai residence, bringing together several familiar faces from the Hindi film industry. Pictures and videos from the gathering have surfaced on social media, offering a glimpse of the evening, which appeared to be filled with laughter, conversations and celebrations.
The couple, who have hosted Diwali gatherings for their industry friends in previous years, once again brought together a mix of actors, filmmakers and other prominent personalities for the occasion. The celebrations also come at an interesting time for Ayushmann, whose latest film, Udta Teer, released in theatres on October 23.
Sara Ali Khan, Karan Johar and other stars join the celebrations
Among those spotted at the gathering were Sara Ali Khan, filmmaker Karan Johar, producer Guneet Monga Kapoor, Shilpa Shetty, Arjun Kapoor, Malavika Mohanan, Bhumi Pednekar and Rajkummar Rao, among others. The guest list reflected the couple’s close connections across different corners of the film industry.
Photographs and videos shared online captured moments from the party, with the attendees coming together to celebrate ahead of Diwali. While the gathering was an intimate affair by the standards of Bollywood’s elaborate festive parties, the presence of several popular personalities ensured that it caught the attention of fans online.
The event also continued a tradition for Ayushmann and Tahira, who have welcomed their friends from the industry to their home for Diwali celebrations over the years. Such gatherings have become a familiar part of the festive calendar, offering stars an opportunity to spend time together away from film sets and promotional commitments.
Ayushmann Khurrana’s Udta Teer releases in theatres
Meanwhile, Ayushmann has another reason to be in the spotlight with the release of Udta Teer. The spy comedy, which also stars Sara Ali Khan, hit cinemas on October 23 after its release date was rescheduled from October 9.
Directed by Aakash A Kaushik, the film centres on a Pakistani spy who loses his memory and finds himself supporting India, setting the stage for a comedy built around espionage and mistaken identity. The ensemble also features Ram Kapoor and Rahul Bose, among others.
Produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Guneet Monga Kapoor and Achin Jain, the film brings together Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment once again. With the Diwali festivities underway and Udta Teer now playing in cinemas, Ayushmann has had a busy week, balancing a new theatrical release with celebrations alongside friends and colleagues from the industry.
