The latest promotional video introduces viewers to Inbaraj in the midst of an investigation during the COVID-19 pandemic. The police officer meets Sibi, played by Rajpriyan, to look into a murder, setting the stage for a story that appears to move across different periods. Suriya is also seen sporting a beard in another portion of the glimpse, suggesting that the narrative could feature a later chapter in the character’s life.
Alongside the new footage, the makers have offered a taste of the film’s music. The track ‘Respectaa’, featuring vocals by Arivu and lyrics by Vaasi, accompanies the glimpse, adding another element to the film’s growing promotional campaign.
Suriya’s DSP Inbaraj gets a new introduction
The latest glimpse provides another look at the character following the earlier reveal of Naslen as Eswaran. While the makers have kept the central storyline under wraps, the footage establishes Inbaraj as a police officer involved in a murder investigation, with the pandemic serving as an important backdrop to at least part of the narrative.
The different looks sported by Suriya also raise questions about the film’s timeline. Whether the portions featuring the bearded Inbaraj represent a substantial time jump or another strand of the investigation remains to be seen. For now, the makers have offered enough to introduce the character without revealing too much about the mystery at the centre of the film.
Scene also brings together a cast featuring Nazriya Nazim, Lal and Anandraj. Rajpriyan, who plays Sibi, is making his film debut with the project after gaining recognition as a social media personality. His character’s interaction with Inbaraj forms a key part of the newly released footage.
The film brings Jithu Madhavan into Tamil cinema with a leading star whose recent projects have explored different genres. The director’s previous work, particularly Aavesham (2024), attracted attention for its distinctive characterisation and energetic storytelling. His collaboration with Suriya has consequently become one of the aspects to watch as Scene moves towards its release.
Sushin Shyam reunites with Jithu Madhavan
The film’s technical team includes several collaborators familiar with Jithu Madhavan’s work. Composer Sushin Shyam, who previously worked with the director on Romancham (2022) and Aavesham, has reunited with him for Scene. The inclusion of ‘Respectaa’ in the latest glimpse provides an early indication of the soundtrack, with Arivu lending his vocals to the track.
The crew also includes cinematographer Vineeth Augustian, editor Ajmal Sabu, production designer Ashwini Kale and action director Chethan D’Souza. Their contributions will be central to shaping the film’s visual style and its treatment of the police investigation.
Production on Scene began in December 2025, and filming was wrapped in July 2026. The film is produced by Suriya and Jyothika under their Zhagaram Studios banner, with Jaishree Damodaran serving as co-producer.
The makers have also secured key distribution arrangements for the film’s digital and audio releases. Netflix has acquired the streaming rights, while Sony Music has obtained the music rights. However, a theatrical release date has yet to be announced.
With the new glimpse shifting attention to Suriya’s DSP Inbaraj, Scene continues to build anticipation around its central investigation, ensemble cast and collaboration between Suriya and Jithu Madhavan. Further promotional material may offer a clearer picture of how the murder mystery unfolds and how the different phases of Inbaraj’s story connect.
