Some moments don’t just happen — they transform the room. They set a new tone for what unity, brilliance, and purpose truly look like. November 6th in Atlanta was that kind of moment.

The Gathering Spot became a place of power and purpose as visionary leaders and trailblazing women came together to celebrate a movement that’s redefining representation in media.

Visionary leader Shon Murdock, founder of The Shon Murdock Group and Full Bloom Global Media, stood at the helm of a historic gathering. With precision and purpose, he convened a collective of powerhouse women whose influence reaches across every corner of media. This inaugural event was more than a debut—it was the foundation of a legacy destined to expand far beyond Atlanta.

Throughout the evening, the women on stage and in the audience spoke with raw honesty about the realities of visibility, opportunity, and sustainability in this evolving industry. “Voices Amplified” wasn’t just a theme — it was a declaration.

Black women in media are no longer waiting for validation — we are the validation. We are writing the stories, redefining the standards, and reclaiming our voices with courage and conviction. Every word that night carried purpose and grace — a testament that when we gather, we don’t compete; we collaborate, we elevate, and we create space for others to shine.

I was honored to witness the moment and even prouder to take my place among so many trailblazers as a panelist — representing my work as Founder and Publisher of The Industry Highlighter Magazine. Sharing my journey as a woman in media, I spoke about the challenges faced, the resilience required to overcome them, and the grace it takes to keep showing up, even when it gets tough to balance, life, work and family. An event like this shifts those dynamics by centering Black women both visibly and behind the scenes.
