The Golmaal franchise began in 2006 with Golmaal: Fun Unlimited and was followed by Golmaal Returns in 2008, Golmaal 3 in 2010 and Golmaal Again in 2017. The fifth film comes two decades after the franchise began and reunites the ensemble for another comedy outing.

Kunal Kemmu, who joined the franchise with Golmaal 3, had previously confirmed that the team was shooting the film and described returning to the characters as a nostalgic experience.
Akshay Kumar’s addition marks a new chapter for the franchise. According to reports, he will play the antagonist opposite Ajay Devgn and the returning ensemble.
