Arijit Singh has fresh reason to celebrate, and this time it’s a global one. His track Phir Se from Dhurandhar: The Revenge has entered Grammy consideration in the Best Song Written for Visual Media category, a stage that precedes the official nominations announced by the Recording Academy.
Sharing the update on Instagram, Arijit kept it simple and grateful, writing, “#PhirSe from DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE for your GRAMMY consideration in the Best Song Written For Visual Media. Thank you for all the love.” Worth noting, entering consideration isn’t the same as securing a nomination, that stage is still some time away.
This isn’t a solo push either. T-Series and B62 Studios have submitted the film’s entire soundtrack for Grammy consideration across multiple categories, with tracks like Aari Aari, Jaan Se Guzarte Hain, Kanhaiyya and Jaiye Sajana also in the running alongside Phir Se.
Composed by Shashwat Sachdev with lyrics by Irshad Kamil, Phir Se carries real emotional weight within the film, playing during the closing moments as Ranveer Singh’s character, Jaskirat Singh Rangi, returns home after completing his mission in Pakistan. Reports suggest the song’s origins trace back to a quiet moment on set, where director Aditya Dhar, after visiting a temple, reminded Sachdev of a melody he’d hummed earlier almost in passing, a moment that eventually grew into the finished track. Arijit himself is said to have gotten emotional while recording it, which, listening to the song, tracks completely.
Dhurandhar: The Revenge itself has had a packed year on the music front, with its soundtrack drawing consistent praise for blending Sachdev’s layered compositions with Kamil’s writing across a range of moods, from high-octane action beats to quieter, more reflective numbers like Phir Se. For Arijit, who has built an enormous international following over the years through his Bollywood work, a Grammy consideration adds yet another marker to an already decorated career, one that’s seen him become arguably the most consistent voice in Hindi film music over the last decade.
With Dhurandhar: The Revenge already having crossed massive numbers at the box office, this Grammy consideration adds another feather to what’s already a landmark year for the franchise and its music team been.
